Adam Egizi is a welcome addition to The Kootz… He completes the first ‘father-son’-duo within the band, being the offspring of veteran-Kootz guitarist/singer Al Egizi! This lad has been playing bass since he was 13 years old and actually first-performed with The Kootz at the tender-age of 16! An alumnus of The Paul Green School of Rock, where he studied for several years, Adam’s resume from that era boasts four U.S. tours as well-as two international excursions.
While studying at The School of Rock, Adam had the opportunity to perform on the same stage along-with such notables as Napoleon Murphy Brock, Carmine Appice, The Butthole Surfers, Tragedy, Anton Fig, The Jane Getter Band, Brendon Small, and Andrew W.K.! He was also privileged to perform in acts that opened for such luminaries as Peter Frampton, Y&T, Allan Holdsworth, Jimmie Johnson, Mountain, Project Object, Terry Bozio, Blues Traveler, The Dropkick Murphys, and Devo!
Adam cites such musical-influences as Led Zeppelin, Yes, Jane's Addiction, Jaco, Steely Dan, Van Halen, Radiohead and The Rolling Stones to name a few!
Upon graduating from Ridgefield High School in 2010, the aspiring ‘Young Mr. E’ looked to 'further his music & media knowledge', embarking on a ‘collegiate-immersion’. After four intense-years of study, performance and hands-on experience, Adam graduated with a B.A. from Montclair State University in 2014, having studied film-making and working in radio & TV…
Since then, this versatile-lad has focused on networking, independent-film-production and of course, making music with many others in the area, including a ‘more-than-successful’-stint with the S.T.A.R.S.-act ‘Mashwork Orange’. Additionally, Adam has 'traveled the country', performing in 'pit-bands' for several major, theatrical-roadshow productions. Lately, he can also be found in a 'video-world', several days-a-week; creating, scripting, shooting, editing and delivering news-features for a major-TV network!
Adam-E has stayed close to his Bergen County roots and is highly-visible, performing with different local-music-acts, several nights a week. ‘The Kootz’ are ‘more than happy’ to have Adam ‘in the fold’ along with the ‘youthful’ burst-of-energy he brings to it!
