Ray Longchamp - Guitar, mandolin, vocals

The Ray Longchamp Story;

It all started in an idyllic, suburban living room in the wilds of Ramsey, New Jersey, in 1964. It was here that an impressionable seven-year-old lad named Ray first saw The Beatles on their now legendary 'three-consecutive-week' stint on the Ed Sullivan Show. Like so many others who viewed... (and were forever altered by) this nationally televised icon of rock 'n roll history... 'little' Ray knew that he had heard his 'calling'... He was 'hooked' on Rock 'n Roll... but little did he know, then... that he was embarking on a lifelong journey to become a 'guitar-playing man'.

Entrenched in the 'tri-state rock 'n roll scene' for close to three decades now, Ray can truly be considered a 'seasoned veteran'... and a master of a variety of guitar styles... So much so...that now, the majority of his daytime hours are devoted to teaching over 50 students his guitar methodology... That's a frightening amount of future Koot-recruits!

Besides his 'riveting' shows as a lead guitarist with The Kootz, Ray also performs as a solo artist... and as (half of) a duo, appearing frequently in northern New Jersey clubs. As time and inspiration allow, he also takes on the role of 'sensitive artist'... writing and recording his own compositions...

As far as the experience of being a 'living, breathing, full-fledged-Koot'... Ray comments; "It's been a 'musical joy' to explore and sometimes even re-invent the classic 'roots-rock' that is the very core of the band's repertoire, alongside the top-shelf musicians that are my fellow-Kootz"!

With those kind of accolades, our best advice to the fans is.... "Come on out and see the chemistry that Ray generates along with his 'Koot brethern' on a live gig"... Mr. Longchamp is truly the 'real-deal'!

Happily married to the wonderful Marianne, Ray and his family reside in Vernon, NJ.

Catch Ray Longchamp... with The Kootz... and prepare to be AMAZED!!!
