Ted 'Tedward' Wyman is a vital-addition to “The Kootz”-family... and has been a working bassist/guitarist/vocalist for over 6 decades, dating-back-to 1965 (which certainly qualifies him for 'Kootz'-dom!)...
Spending his 'Wonder-Years', growing-up in historic Lexington Massachusetts, Ted's musical-journey commenced on the clarinet, as he idolized and studied the legendary Benny Goodman, enthusiastically... However, on the evening-of Sunday, February 9th, 1964... his world was 'rocked-forever' by 'The Beatles' performance on The Ed Sullivan Show! The clarinet was instantly 'retired', as 'Young-Ted' now-knew what he wanted to do... forever!
After receiving his first bass-guitar, gifted to-him at Christmas of 1964, Ted was recruited into his first band, “The Rogues” the very next-day! Subsequently, he spent every spare moment learning every song and musical-technique he could, with early and major influences that included: The Beatles, Animals, Beach Boys, Kinks, Paul Revere & The Raiders, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Hendrix, The Byrds, Allman Brothers, Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, Sly Stone, The Who... and SO many-more, who shaped his love for vocal-harmonies and pinpoint-accurate-musicianship.
Joining-up with-the "K"-tribe, reveals this life-long musical-journeyman's enduring musical-history...which-serves to propel-to the 'already-energized'-repertoire of 'The Kootz'-band!
Now... through the years, Ted has performed with a plethora of bands & artists, many of-whom are 'openers' for several 'notable touring-acts' in pop/rock music-history! They include: The Allman Brothers, Vanilla Fudge, John Fred & The Playboys, B.B. King, Buddy Guy & Jimmy Vivino, to name MORE than-a-few! So many of these iconic-opportunities enabled him to take the stage at such legendary-venues as: The Jones Beach Theatre, Resorts Casino Atlantic City, Palladium in NYC, Paramount in Long Island, Webster Hall, CBGB, Terra Blues, The Bitter End and Kenny’s Castaways!
Currently, Ted is also the resident-bassist for the amazing 14-piece Neil Diamond Tribute band, “Neil Forever", which can be seen and heard, performing at a wide-array of venues, all-around the country!
Now... While 'The Kootz' may... or may-not-be taking any of the above-stages anytime-soon, you WILL-be guaranteed to see 'Tedward' on MANY-of our "K"-venue 'stages', as he shows his true musical-versatility, playing and singing his heart-out, in ALL of the many 'Kootz'-lineups!
Ted looks forward to his 'Kootz-dom', with energy and great passion!
C'mon-out and catch him!
